The “Mars-tini” spread embodies the concept behind the project with an article that proposes a fantastical alternate reality, included primarily to actualize the content of the magazine. The primary artworks for the spread are the supplementary article photos, each digitally designed in Adobe Photoshop using masking, painting, and adjustment techniques. I began by masking and isolating elements of the images to create complex compositions, followed by custom painting to enhance specific features and textures. To ensure visual harmony, I applied advanced retouching and adjustments to upwards of thirty individual layers in an essential process to refine the complex interaction between elements that serve to elevate the narrative of the concept.
“Drink Ticket” is a conceptual print magazine guided by the philosophy of the martini—a timeless, versatile symbol of luxury. Honoring the cocktail as both a facilitator of connection and a purveyor of elegance, the project reimagines iconic trends from past decades, all preserved within a singular imagined world: Mars-tini, a surrealist dreamscape intended to bring home the surrealist. Inspired by the cheeky anecdotes of the 1950s, each spread fuses elements of old Hollywood glamor, retro-futurism, and Art Nouveau advertising, serving as a vibrant reflection of the artist’s distinct personality and creative vision.
